Job Title: Handy PersonLocation: Rowley RegisHours: Full Time Monday to FridayPay Rate: £13.36 per hourAbout the RoleWe are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Handy Person to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a residential/service environment, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained setting for residents and staff.Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Maintenance & Repairs Carry out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks Undertake internal decorating touch-ups Assist with simple maintenance and operation of heating systems Report faults, breakages, and safety concerns to management Health & Safety Complete weekly/monthly health & safety site inspections Conduct fire alarm tests and maintain accurate records Perform community alarm checks (including pendant alarms on request) Monitor safety equipment (including fire safety checks and expiry dates) Ensure compliance with Health & Safety at Work policies at all times Cleaning & Site Support Respond to spills and accidents using appropriate cleaning equipment Carry out general cleaning duties, including window cleaning Assist with porterage and deliveries Grounds Maintenance Support the upkeep of gardens, grounds, and external areas throughout all seasons Operational Support Attend staff meetings and participate in training and development Provide support across other sites within the borough when required Assist with driving duties where appropriate About You Experience in a similar handyperson, maintenance, or facilities role Basic DIY and maintenance skills Good understanding of health & safety practices Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude Full UK driving licence (desirable) Enhanced DBS for Adults on the Update Service is requiredJBRP1_UKTJ
