Info about the company\nA medical device company combining cutting edge Medical Technology and Artificial intelligence.\nInfo about what the Hardware Design Engineer role entails\nWe are looking for an experienced and detail-driven Hardware Engineer to join our team. This role involves the design, development, and ongoing support of medical, diagnostic, and scientific devices. The successful candidate will bring strong expertise across analogue and digital electronics, RF, battery and low-power systems, and embedded platforms, with a focus on robust electronics design, testing, firmware integration, and compliance with relevant industry standards.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Design and develop hardware systems, including architecture, schematics, PCB layout, and embedded solutions for battery-powered products\n * Lead and participate in the full hardware development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, prototyping, testing, debugging, firmware, and production support.\n * Ensure all products meet relevant regulatory standards (e.g., IEC 60601, 61326, 60335, ISO13485) and support new product introduction (NPI) processes.\n * Develop and execute test plans, conduct EMC testing, and troubleshoot hardware issues to ensure product reliability and compliance.\n * Collaborate with cross-functional teams, software, and manufacturing, to deliver integrated solutions.\n * Maintain accurate documentation for hardware designs, test results, and compliance records.\n * Stay current with advancements in low-power design, BLE, RF technologies, and embedded firmware.\n * Provide production support and resolve issues related to hardware performance and manufacturability.\nEssential Requirements of the Hardware Design Engineer\n * Proven experience delivering medical, diagnostic, or scientific devices.\n * Strong background in analogue, digital, RF, low power, and embedded systems design.\n * Proficiency in electronics design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and debugging.\n * Experience with EMC testing, compliance, and regulatory standards (IEC 60601, 61326, 60335).\n * Demonstrated expertise in low-power design, signal conditioning BLE, and RF systems.\n * Hands-on experience with embedded firmware development\n * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\n * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.\n * Strong written and verbal communication skills.\nDesirable Requirements of the Hardware Design Engineer\n * Experience supporting products through the full liecycle, from concept to production.\n * Familiarity with production support and NPI processes.\nBenefits\n * Outside IR35\n * 6month contract\n * 1 or 2 days in Cambridge\nIf you feel you are suitable and interested in this role, APPLY NOW with an up to date CV.
