We pride ourselves on creativity, consistency, and a strong, collaborative team culture. Role Overview We are seeking a talented and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen. This role combines hands-on cooking with leadership, menu development, and operational responsibility. You will shape the culinary direction of the restaurant while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and profitability. Key Responsibilities Kitchen Leadership Lead, inspire, and develop the kitchen team Create a positive, professional, and inclusive working environment Manage rotas, staffing levels, and team performance Food & Menu Development Design and deliver seasonal, innovative menus aligned with the restaurants concept Source high-quality ingredients, prioritising local and sustainable suppliers Continuously refine dishes based on feedback and creativity Operations & Standards Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portion control Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety (in line with UK regulations) Oversee stock control, ordering, and waste management Manage kitchen budgets and food cost targets Service Work closely with front-of-house to ensure smooth service Maintain calm, organised kitchen operations during busy periods Be present and hands-on during service Requirements Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a similar environment Strong leadership and team management skills Passion for seasonal, ingredient-led cooking Solid understanding of kitchen financials (GP, cost control, margins) Excellent organisational and communication skills Food Hygiene Level 3 Desirable Experience in small, independent or owner-led restaurants A creative approach to menu development Knowledge of East London food scene and suppliers What We Offer Competitive salary (based on experience) Creative input and autonomy over menus Supportive, independent working environment Opportunity to grow with the business
