The Practice

Our client is a proudly independent, owner-led practice founded by experienced vets who have worked across both charity and private settings. Their ethos is rooted in communication, honesty and trust – ensuring clinical decisions are always made with patient welfare as the absolute priority, free from corporate pressures.

The practice comprises:

• A four-vet team operating across two floors
• A general dog and exotics clinic
• A dedicated cat-only clinic on the first floor, providing a calm, low-stress environment for feline patients
• A strong, cohesive team of vets, nurses and receptionists, with continuity of care at the heart of their service
• Facilities are exceptional and include:
• Digital radiography
• Ultrasound
• In-house IDEXX laboratory
• Multiparameter monitors
• State-of-the-art surgical theatres (routine and referral procedures)
• Premium Casco WellKennels for day patients
• Separate cat and dog wards
• Full dental suite
• Exotic patient facilities

Consultations are a minimum of 20 minutes, allowing the clinical team to provide thorough, considered care without feeling rushed.

Services offered include wellness exams, vaccinations (dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets), surgery, diagnostics, dental care, parasite prevention, microchipping, pet travel certification and exotic species care.

The Role

We are seeking a confident and experienced Head Nurse with a minimum of two years’ experience in a Head Nurse position.

This role offers genuine flexibility around working patterns, although ideally five days per week. There is no weekend work, supporting an excellent work–life balance.

You will play a key leadership role within the nursing team, helping to maintain clinical standards, drive team engagement and ensure the continued delivery of outstanding patient and client care.

Salary & Benefits

• £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
• 23 days annual leave plus all Bank Holidays
