Onsite, IWS M&E, and G Stow is part of the South Staffordshire Group – a 3,000-strong organisation behind South Staffs Water, Cambridge Water, and several leading utility support businesses – offering long-term development and career progression. Reporting directly to the OnSite Business Development Director, this is a senior, hands‑on leadership position where you will drive strategic growth, strengthen client relationships, and secure new opportunities. You will lead high‑quality bid activity, collaborate across multiple functions, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of our business. The Role
Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement business development strategies aligned to company objectives Team Management: Lead and support account management activities, driving performance and collaboration Relationship Building: Act as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders and clients Revenue Growth: Identify and secure new business opportunities to meet ambitious growth targets Bid Leadership: Oversee high‑quality, compelling bid submissions aligned with delivery strategies Cross‑functional Collaboration: Work closely with estimating, design, operations, and commercial teams to deliver winning proposals
What You’ll Need
Minimum 3 years’ experience in M&E or Civils construction bidding (qualitative focus) Proven track record in business development and bid writing within the construction sector Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills Strong commercial awareness and experience working with estimating and delivery teams A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
