Peridot Recruit is recruiting on behalf of an established, owner-managed business within the automotive services sector. The client is seeking a senior commercial and operational leader to take day-to-day control of performance, people, and process. Role Purpose To lead commercial growth while bringing operational discipline and clarity, acting as the owner's deputy and reducing reliance on owner involvement in daily decision‑making. Key Accountabilities Commercial Leadership
Drive sales performance, customer acquisition, and pricing strategy Lead marketing activity, promotions, and local partnerships Act as a senior representative and face of the business
Operational Control
Standardise operational processes and performance reporting Improve internal and external communication and decision‑flow Ensure operational competitiveness and service consistency
People Leadership
Oversee recruitment, training, and performance management Create a positive, accountable environment where teams perform Resolve operational issues through leadership ownership
Deputy Responsibility
Act on behalf of the owner where required Take commercial and operational decisions with confidence
Success Measures (12 Months)
Measurable improvement in revenue and customer engagement Reduced owner dependency in daily operations Improved pricing control and operational visibility A self‑sufficient, well‑led team
Leadership Expectation During probation, the postholder will learn and embed within the business, with leadership responsibility increasing as understanding and trust are established. Candidate Profile
Senior commercial leader with operational credibility Comfortable in owner‑led, hands‑on environments Strong communicator who values facts, clarity, and accountability Experienced in leading people, not just managing process
