We are partnering with a fast-growing commodities and FX trading business to appoint a Head of Credit Risk. This is a senior, highly visible role with direct exposure to the front office and meaningful influence over commercial decision-making.

You will take ownership of a broad counterparty credit portfolio, leading a team and acting as a trusted partner to Sales, Trading and senior management.

The Role

This position combines hands-on credit analysis with leadership, stakeholder management and strategic oversight. You will:

• Oversee credit risk across a diverse portfolio of counterparties using OTC hedging solutions in commodities and FX.
• Lead and develop a credit risk team covering analysis, exposure monitoring and collateral management.
• Perform fundamental credit analysis on new and existing clients and set appropriate credit limits.
• Monitor trading activity, exposures, market movements and PnL, escalating risks where appropriate.
• Engage directly with clients to understand business developments and evolving risk profiles.
• Own credit memorandums, limit approvals within delegated authority and reporting to Credit Committee.
• Use data and analytics to improve credit decisions and support commercial outcomes.
• Help shape and enhance credit risk frameworks, controls and processes as the business scales.

What They’re Looking For

• Strong, well-rounded credit risk experience, ideally within commodities and or FX.
• Proven leadership & management capability and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
• Commercial mindset with disciplined risk judgement.
• Comfortable operating close to the front office in a fast-paced trading environment.
• Experience using Python and or SQL in a professional context.
• Knowledge of KYC, AML and ISDA documentation is beneficial.
• CFA, FRM or similar qualifications are a plus.
• Spanish and or Portuguese language skills would be advantageous.
