Head of Data Governance

A fully remote (UK-based) opportunity for a still hands-on, pragmatic Head of Data Governance who wants to apply their skills and experience for a positive cause.

This global movement generates enormous volumes of data that are used for multiple purposes. Many systems and tools are used across many countries to generate, store, and communicate data and information. The practical and efficient use of data is integral to their strategy moving forward, and data governance and quality are critical components.

This is your opportunity to drive value through data governance for a fantastic cause. You will ensure business unit leaders are clear on what they can do with enterprise data and their respective accountabilities for data stewardship.

Ideally, we want someone with:

Practical hands-on solving skills. Not just strategic. Working in an ambiguous environment with a lack of data governance maturity. Nothing is in place there currently. A pragmatic approach to data governance Previous experience implementing data governance frameworks from scratch Knowledge of DAMA Data Management Body of Knowledge An ability to build a community of Data Stewards, globally Experience with finance data. So a chart of accounts, cost centres, etc. This opportunity suits someone looking to take the next step in their career into a leadership role.

Alternatively, it suits someone already at the leadership level who enjoys practical hands-on work, given your very small team. The key here is to leave your ego at the door and enjoy the doing and problem-solving.

It's a fully remote (100%), perm role paying circa £75k with great benefits, including 32 days of holiday, gym membership, and a generous pension.
