An established engineering business with a diverse portfolio across the water, nuclear, and energy sectors is seeking an experienced Head of Engineering. This is a senior leadership position overseeing a key part of the company's design capability, with responsibility for multi-discipline teams working on large-scale infrastructure programmes. The Role
Lead a multi-discipline engineering team across various live projects. Act as the primary link between engineering, delivery teams, and external partners. Manage workload, resource planning, and team capability. Oversee progress, risk, and overall team performance. Ensure technical quality and consistency across all outputs. Contribute to future work pipeline and help shape upcoming opportunities. Drive improvements in engineering delivery and methodologies.
Key Requirements
Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex projects. Strong background in team management across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines. In-depth understanding of design delivery covering multiple engineering areas. Ability to manage workload, priorities, and team structure effectively. Skilled in stakeholder engagement at all levels. Experience within infrastructure, energy, or similar engineering sectors. Passionate about influencing and owning outcomes at a senior level. Motivated by the stability of long-term project pipelines. Eager to shape, develop, and mentor engineering teams. Values flexibility and hybrid working arrangements across the UK.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent. Chartered status (or working towards) is preferred.
