Head of Engineering Location: UK (Hybrid) - London Contract Type: Permanent Overview A well-established engineering organisation with a robust pipeline of work across the water, nuclear, and energy sectors is seeking a senior leader to oversee a crucial area of their design capability. This position places you at the heart of a multi-discipline team, spanning mechanical, electrical, and related engineering fields, engaged in large-scale infrastructure programmes. Key Responsibilities
Lead a multi-discipline engineering team across several ongoing projects Serve as a central link between engineering, delivery teams, and external partners Manage workload, resource planning, and overall team capability Oversee project progress, risks, and overall performance Support technical quality and consistency across deliverables Contribute to business development and shape future opportunities Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes and delivery
Requirements
Experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering teams on complex projects Proven track record managing teams across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines Strong understanding of design delivery across multiple specialisms Proficient in managing workloads, priorities, and team structures Ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at various levels Background in engineering design within infrastructure, energy, or similar sectors Seeking a role with significant influence and ownership at a senior level Motivated by long-term project stability and pipeline Interested in team development and engineering capability building Values hybrid working and flexibility across UK locations
Qualifications
Engineering degree or similar background required Chartered status (or working towards) preferred
