The Role We are looking for a Head of Finance to play a pivotal leadership role within Yorkshire Cricket. Reporting to the Group Finance Director, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function while also acting as a visible and collaborative leader across the Club. This role goes beyond delivering excellent financial reporting. We are looking for someone who brings energy, positivity and a strong partnership mindset. You will enjoy working across teams, building relationships and helping colleagues use financial insight to make better decisions. You will be technically excellent, but equally comfortable stepping outside the traditional boundaries of finance to support the wider organisation. As a leader across the Club, you will help connect people, influence thinking and contribute to a culture of collaboration, transparency and shared success. Key Responsibilities
Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts across all Yorkshire Cricket entities, including analysis of key variances and balance sheet reconciliations. Translate financial information into clear insight that supports operational and strategic decision-making across the Club. Work closely with departments to support planning, performance monitoring and financial understanding. Support the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. Produce and maintain multi-year cashflow forecasts to support long-term planning. Lead the preparation of year-end statutory accounts and manage relationships with external auditors. Ensure compliance with HMRC, VAT, payroll and statutory reporting requirements. Lead, develop and motivate a small accounts team, setting clear standards and encouraging collaboration and accountability. Act as a trusted partner to colleagues across the Club, helping to bring people together around shared goals and informed decision-making. Contribute to the wider leadership of the organisation by modelling strong communication, openness and collaboration.
About You We are looking for a finance professional who combines strong technical expertise with energy, curiosity and a highly collaborative approach. You will enjoy working with people across the organisation, building strong relationships and influencing decisions through insight and partnership. You bring a proactive, solutions-focused mindset and are comfortable engaging with colleagues at all levels of the Club. In addition, you possess the following key skills and experience:
Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) Experience producing management accounts and statutory financial statements Strong understanding of audit processes and financial controls Excellent Excel and analytical capability Strong organisational and time management skillsAbility to build trusted relationships and influence stakeholders across an organisation A proactive, positive and collaborative leadership style Confidence communicating financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences A mindset focused on continuous improvement and supporting change
