Head of Finance - BGCI Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BGCI) is seeking to appoint a Head of Finance who will be responsible for all finance functions across the BGCI Group, including financial and management reporting, company secretarial duties, tax, financial risk and controls, project reporting, audit liaison, banking and compliance, and the management of a small Finance team located in the UK and Kenya. Job Share and Working Arrangement Job-share, Part-time (3 days a week; potential to go full-time). Temporary offices in 2026 are located in Putney, London. Hybrid model: working 1 day per week in office at Kew, London. Responsibilities
Financial and management reporting across the BGCI Group. Company secretarial duties. Tax compliance. Financial risk and control management. Project reporting. Audit liaison. Banking and compliance. Management of Finance team in UK and Kenya.
Qualifications
Proven track record working for a conservation or scientific organisation, preferably in plant conservation. Experience in a multicultural and multinational institutional structure. Sensitivity to complex institutional frameworks.
Location BGCI Offices, Kew, London; Hybrid (working 1 day per week in office) Remuneration £50-52,000 FTE (Actual: £30-31,200) Grade S2. Salary dependent on level of skills, experience and necessary qualifications. It plays a key coordinating role, facilitating collaboration between botanic gardens and other conservation organisations, and supports the development and long-term functioning of botanic garden networks.
