We are working in partnership with a reputable independent secondary school in Hertfordshire, to appoint a committed Head of Geography for a September 2026 start.
This role is ideal for an experienced Head of Geography seeking a new challenge, or a high-performing Geography teacher ready to step up into middle leadership.

The Role | Head of Geography
  • Lead and develop the Geography department across KS3-KS5
  • Shape and deliver a rigorous, engaging Geography curriculum
  • Line-manage and mentor Geography staff
  • Monitor pupil progress and drive high standards of teaching and learning
  • Contribute to whole-school initiatives and strategic development

The Ideal Candidate | Head of Geography
Essential Criteria
  • PGCE (Secondary) in Geography with QTS
  • Strong subject knowledge across Physical and Human Geography
  • Proven track record of excellent classroom practice
Leadership Experience
  • Either:
    • Current Head of Geography seeking a move, or
    • An ambitious Geography teacher ready to step up into a first Head of Department role
