Job Role

W Talent Manufacturing and Engineering are in an exclusive partnership with a Global Building Material Manufacturer to find a strategic Head of Health, Safety and Environmental for the UK & Ireland. This pivotal role involves transforming the safety culture across multiple manufacturing sites, embedding a proactive safety mindset, and ensuring full legal compliance. You will drive a consistent, high-impact approach to HSE performance, collaborating closely with operational and non-operational teams across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Health and Safety Strategy: Develop and implement a health and safety strategy aligned with company goals, emphasizing prevention and proactivity.
  2. Regulatory Compliance: Act as the primary contact for HSE inspectors, facilitating site inspections and reviews. Stay updated with relevant legislation and ensure compliance.
  3. Risk Assessment: Conduct and review risk assessments to identify hazards and mitigate risks.
  4. Training and Education: Create and deliver safety training programs for employees, contractors, and visitors to foster a safety-conscious culture.
  5. Incident Investigation: Lead investigations into workplace incidents and near misses, implementing corrective actions.
  6. HSE Reporting: Prepare reports for senior management and regulators, providing insights and recommendations.
  7. Audits and Inspections: Regularly assess compliance, identify improvements, and monitor progress.
  8. Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture through leadership, coaching, and communication.
  9. Environmental Compliance: Maintain ISO 14001 systems, ensuring adherence to environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
