The Role - Head of Humanities The successful Head of Humanities will:
To understand the impact and important of their role in helping our students to have high aspirations, and they will share our belief that our students deserve an exceptional curriculum and the very best teaching.
They will work within an experienced and successful team, delivering exceptional outcomes and progression.
The Humanities departments teach students in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5 and are focussed on developing subject specific pedagogy and a high-quality curriculum to ensure all students make exceptional progress.
This leadership role will drive ever-improving standards of curriculum and teaching across the Humanities.
Offer a strong Humanities specialism up to KS5 (History, Geography, or related subjects)
Lead, develop, and manage a well-resourced and engaging Humanities department
Deliver innovative and challenging lessons, keeping up to date with curriculum developments
Monitor and track pupil progress to ensure high levels of achievement
Promote the school's ethos and values at all times
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum through data analysis, lesson observations, and reviews of students' work
Lead departmental meetings and contribute to whole-school initiatives
