We’re working with a welcoming and ambitious 11–16 school looking for an exceptional Head of Humanities (geography specialist) to oversee History, Geography, and Religious Education. You’ll guide a team of committed teachers, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning while developing an engaging, ambitious curriculum that inspires every student.

About the Role

As Head of Humanities, you’ll:

• Lead, manage, and inspire the Humanities department

• Oversee curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment across History, Geography, and RE

• Support staff development through mentoring, coaching, and CPD

• Use data to drive progress and close gaps across all year groups

• Model outstanding classroom practice and contribute to whole-school leadership

• Promote enrichment activities, trips, and cross-curricular projects that bring Humanities to life

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Holds QTS and has significant experience teaching at KS3–KS4

• Has proven leadership skills and experience in raising attainment

• Brings energy, vision, and subject passion to the role

• Is confident in developing curriculum and assessment strategies

• Builds strong relationships with staff, students, and parents
