We’re working with a welcoming and ambitious 11–16 school looking for an exceptional Head of Humanities (geography specialist) to oversee History, Geography, and Religious Education. You’ll guide a team of committed teachers, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning while developing an engaging, ambitious curriculum that inspires every student.
About the Role
As Head of Humanities, you’ll:
Lead, manage, and inspire the Humanities department
Oversee curriculum planning, delivery, and assessment across History, Geography, and RE
Support staff development through mentoring, coaching, and CPD
Use data to drive progress and close gaps across all year groups
Model outstanding classroom practice and contribute to whole-school leadership
Promote enrichment activities, trips, and cross-curricular projects that bring Humanities to life
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
Holds QTS and has significant experience teaching at KS3–KS4
Has proven leadership skills and experience in raising attainment
Brings energy, vision, and subject passion to the role
Is confident in developing curriculum and assessment strategies
Builds strong relationships with staff, students, and parents

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
