We are currently partnering with a housing association based in London, who are recruiting for a Head of Legal to join them during an exciting period of change.This is a full-time position with a salary of £98,000 and they are able to wait for candidatesDuties will include (but are not limited to):Develop and implement a new legal strategy for them, leading and managing the legal team to ensure key objective are achievedReview the overall structure of the service and scope of works delivered in house, creating a business case for investment and plan for the development of the serviceProvide expert legal advice for the operational teams and the executive team on a range of legal matters and provide advice and training to operational colleaguesOversight of cases where legal action is required, ensuring they are effectively managed to conclusion, minimising risks to the business and maintaining a customer focus and understanding through the processWorking with other senior leaders across the business to provide support and hold them accountable for meeting legal requirementsSkills and experience required:Experience as a senior in-house Lawyer within a housing association or local authorityUp to date knowledge of housing law and legislation, including disrepair, possession actions, anti-social behaviour and tenancy enforcementQualified Solicitor, Barrister or Lawyer with significant post qualification experienceRewards and Benefits:Hybrid working - 3 days working from homeWorking hours:37 hours per weekMonday – Friday, 9am-5pmPlease note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
