About The Role
SBFM is seeking an experienced Head of Marketing to lead the marketing function on a 10-12 month fixed-term maternity cover, commencing in May. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of three days per week based in the office.
Duties And Responsibilities
Develop and own the annual marketing strategy and plan, setting clear objectives, KPIs and budget allocation aligned to overall business goals.
Lead the SBFM brand across the organisation, ensuring consistent positioning, messaging and visual identity across all channels, business units and touchpoints.
Manage and develop the marketing team, providing clear direction, accountability and support across design, content and digital performance.
Partner closely with Sales and Bids teams to strengthen commercial outcomes, providing high-quality materials, campaigns and insight that support new business wins.
Lead B2B demand generation activity, including paid media, search, website performance, email marketing, automation and outreach, working with external agencies where required.
Lead the planning and delivery of internal and external events, ensuring professional execution, strong brand representation and clear alignment with business objectives.
Develop and oversee the social media strategy, setting content direction, approving creative briefs and ensuring a strong, consistent and commercially aligned online presence.
Oversee internal communications, including company-wide email activity, ensuring messaging is clear, engaging and aligned with brand and business priorities
Oversee the creation and approval of all marketing content and assets, ensuring clarity, consistency and alignment with brand and commercial objectives.
Track, analyse and report on marketing performance using Salesforce and wider data sources, providing clear insight and recommendations to senior leadership.
Manage marketing budgets and agency relationships, ensuring strong ROI, efficiency and value for money.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer insight to refine positioning and identify opportunities for growth.
Qualifications And Skills
Proven experience in a senior marketing role within a B2B or service-led organisation.
Strong leadership and people management experience, with the ability to guide, motivate and develop a marketing team.
Broad knowledge of marketing strategy, channels and brand management, with the ability to apply this in a practical, commercial setting.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with exposure to Adobe Creative Suite.
Marketing technology platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, Apollo, Salesforce, Lead Forensics, Google Analytics).
Highly organised, commercially aware and comfortable balancing strategy with hands‑on delivery.
