Head of Physics Location: Surrey (excellent transport links) Contract: Permanent, starting September 2026 Salary: Main Scale / Upper Scale (Fringe) + TLR
Our client, a successful and highly regarded 11–18 academy in Surrey, is seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspiring Head of Physics to lead a thriving Science faculty from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher or current middle leader looking to take the next step in their career. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving standards, shaping the curriculum, and leading high-quality teaching and learning in Physics across Key Stages 3–5.
The school has a strong reputation for academic achievement and offers a supportive, collaborative environment with a clear focus on staff development and student success.
The successful candidate will:
* Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
* Have strong experience teaching Physics at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
* Have experience teaching Key Stage 5
* Demonstrate a proven track record of excellent classroom practice
* Have the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire both students and staff
* Be committed to raising attainment and delivering outstanding outcomes
* Be an effective team player with strong organisational and communication skills
* Be reflective and committed to their own professional development
