Head of Product, Payments-as-a-Service

New Yesterday

This is an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual to join the UK's largest digital bank (and the UK's largest Fintech) and look to expand into new revenue opportunities using existing Group capabilities and technologies to external clients. The Product Lead, Payments-as-a-Service (PaaS) will lead the development, commercialization, and delivery of the Group's expanded "Payments as a Service" ambition. This includes existing product and services already marketed to partners as well as new ventures capitalising on our in‑house technology build. This is a strategic, high‑impact role responsible for shaping how the Group participates in the future of Payments‑as‑a‑Service across the broadest sense – from working with internal platform teams and business areas to shaping how products will be designed to a go‑to‑market strategy. What you’ll be doing: Strategy & Vision for Payments-as-a-Service
Define the strategic vision and multiyear roadmap for the Group's PaaS capabilities. Assess market trends, industry innovations, regulatory change and emerging customer needs to identify new opportunities. Shape commercial and operating models that enable PaaS to scale across internal business units and potential external partnerships. Build strategic business cases and investment proposals to secure funding for new initiatives.
Proposition & Product Development
Identify customer (internal and/or external) needs and design innovative PaaS propositions to meet them. Own the end‑to‑end product lifecycle: discovery, framing, scoping, design, MVP definition, sequencing and delivery oversight of end‑to‑end product lifecycle. Lead proposition development for existing and new markets‑including those that are not yet established. Partner with engineering, architecture, treasury, payments operations, and regulatory teams to ensure designs are scalable, compliant, secure and commercially viable.
External Business Development
Actively explore partnership opportunities, including commercial models, joint propositions, or collaborations.
Delivery Leadership & Roadmap Execution
Define and prioritise the PaaS roadmap, balancing near‑term deliverables with long‑term strategic innovation. Guide cross‑functional delivery and operations teams, ensuring clarity on value, scope, key performance indicators, service aspects and customer outcomes. Oversee launch and BAU optimisation of new PaaS journeys, ensuring robust performance management.
Commercial Outcomes & Investment Performance
Develop investment cases for PaaS initiatives and track delivery of commercial, operational and customer outcomes. Own performance metrics, reporting and continuous improvement actions. Work with finance, commercial teams and business units to shape pricing, value models, and commercial constructs.
