We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Professional Conduct who will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of The Institution and for creating a culture of ethical behaviour.

Alongside the interests and challenges of the role, we know that candidates also want to be enthused about the mission and values of the organisation they might be joining.

IStructE is a charity and the professional body for structural engineers. We have a global membership who have designed many of the world’s iconic structures as well as many of the buildings and bridges we take almost for granted in our daily lives.

Creating safer structures for the benefit of the public is at the heart of our remit and this includes environmental sustainability with structural engineers and the Institution at the heart of the impact construction has on natural resources and climate change.

We are passionate about inclusion and work hard to help those with talent, irrespective of background, to find and develop a route into the profession. Many of our members work to support the world’s most vulnerable communities, especially those living in places prone to natural hazards such as earthquakes and extreme flooding.

If working as part of a staff team of about 80 people and alongside many of our members to address these issues appeals to you, then we would love to hear from you.

The Role:

This role will manage the Professional Conduct department and be the lead on matters relating to The Institution. The role is responsible for ensuring that members adhere to the established ethical standards and professional guidelines and will manage our most complex conduct cases. The Professional Conduct Manager will report into this role who in turn will manage a Professional Conduct Coordinator.
