Head of Programmes

TXM Recruit are supporting a well-established engineering business in the search for a Head of Programmes to lead and deliver complex, cross-functional projects.

This is a senior leadership role, responsible for ensuring programmes are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. You will play a key role in driving project excellence, improving processes, and leading high-performing teams within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Define programme and project scope, objectives, and deliverables aligned with business goals
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource strategies
Lead and coordinate internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless delivery
Oversee day-to-day programme activities, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
Provide clear and consistent communication to stakeholders and senior leadership
Monitor performance using appropriate project management tools and methodologies
Conduct post-project reviews to drive continuous improvement
Ensure compliance with company processes, policies, and industry best practices
Drive improvements in existing processes to enhance efficiency and deliveryKey Skills & Experience

Strong understanding of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.)
Experience using tools such as Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira, or Trello
Proven leadership and team management capabilities
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Strong problem-solving ability with a hands-on approach
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environmentQualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field
5+ years’ experience in project or programme management
Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or AgileKey Competencies

Strong leadership and decision-making ability
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Effective risk identification and mitigation
Strong financial and budget management capability
Ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships
Adaptability within a dynamic and evolving environment
