We’re looking for a Head of Project Engineering to support a highly skilled, customer‑focused team at the heart of Cellnex’s delivery model. Working in a fast‑paced, time‑constrained environment, you’ll oversee teams that support both our delivery units and their customers, enabling the deployment of cutting‑edge technologies across our infrastructure. Working with our subject matter experts, you’ll set clear technical and operational standards, provide expert guidance, and create a culture where safety, quality and collaboration thrive. In this role, you’ll probably be from one of the Disciplines that this position will lead - (CAD, RF safety, electrical, site design) with experience of leading a highly skilled, diverse team. This is a hybrid position based at our welcoming offices in Leamington Spa, Reading or Manchester, with three days in the office and two days working from home. We welcome applications from everyone. Provide strategic leadership across the CAD, Site Design, Radio Safety and Electrical Design functions, ensuring consistent engineering excellence and alignment with business objectives. Act as the accountable owner of design governance, ensuring all engineering outputs meet Cellnex, customer, and site provider standards. Drive supplier performance management, providing feedback, corrective actions, and identifying opportunities for upskilling or rationalisation. Provide technical coaching and training to internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality, accurate design deliverables are produced and recorded for each project. Lead the development of internal engineering capability, mentoring designers, engineers and project teams to raise overall technical competency. Serve as the expert authority on Site Design, RF Safety, Build Standards, Drawing Standards and Electrical Design within the organisation. Ensure all Cellnex design documents, guidelines and technical specifications remain accurate, relevant, and fully aligned with legislative and industry best practice. Review and validate complex or escalated designs, providing expert recommendations and technical solutions where required.

Experience
Strong knowledge of key stakeholders and delivery partners across the UK telecommunications market. Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams (CAD, RF safety, electrical, site design) and developing internal capability. Proven ability to analyse investigation outcomes, identify root causes and implement structured development or corrective‑action plans to prevent recurrence. A strong track record in delivering installation projects and large‑scale technical programmes within the telecommunications or broadcast infrastructure environment. Solid understanding of current and emerging technologies used by UK mobile operators, including RAN, transmission, power and safety‑related technologies. Hands‑on experience producing and reviewing Site Designs for UK mobile operators, with a deep knowledge of design standards, RF principles and build methodologies. Demonstrated experience working with third‑party suppliers, with evidence of driving measurable improvements in delivery quality, performance, or capability. Experience establishing KPIs, dashboards, or performance monitoring processes for engineering or supplier functions. Experience defining Scope, Policy and Technical Specifications through a structured and controlled document management process.
