Head of Quality


We’re looking for an experienced and driven Head of Quality to lead our quality, governance, and improvement agenda. Reporting to the Director of Quality, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.

This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll turn quality strategy into action ensuring services are compliant, inspection-ready, and consistently delivering excellent care aligned with our vision, ‘The Promise’.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead day-to-day quality operations, managing and developing the Quality Team
  • Oversee governance systems including incidents, complaints, risk, audits, and learning reviews
  • Drive regulatory compliance and ensure services meet internal and external quality standards
  • Translate quality strategy into clear, deliverable operational plans
  • Analyse data from audits, incidents, and stakeholder feedback to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities
  • Lead organisation-wide quality improvement initiatives and support services to embed best practice
  • Oversee and quality assure the internal audit programme, including conducting audits where required
  • Ensure learning is captured and shared across services to improve outcomes
  • Maintain policies, procedures, and quality tools to ensure they remain effective and up to date
  • Prepare services for inspections, coordinate responses, and support post-inspection action plans
  • Produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and assurance updates for senior leaders and the Board
  • Lead the Quality Control Group and contribute to governance forums and operational reviews
  • Line manages, coach, and develop Quality Officers, setting and monitoring KPIs
  • Work collaboratively across Operations, HR, and wider teams to drive improvement and support strategic projects
  • Escalate risks early with clear recommendations and ensure timely resolution
