THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a build role. We are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial consultant to establish and scale fscom’s supervisory and enforcement practice from the ground up. You will define the proposition, win the work, deliver it, and build the team around you.


You will be responsible for establishing and scaling fscom’s supervisory and enforcement practice supporting regulated firms through their most critical regulatory events, including supervisory interventions, remediation programmes, and enforcement adjacent matters.


WHAT YOU’LL DO


Build the practice

  • Define the regulatory supervisory and enforcement proposition, scope, methodology, delivery frameworks, and go-to-market positioning.
  • Establish and lead fscom’s supervisory & enforcement practice, setting clear strategic direction, priorities, and growth plans.
  • Build a high quality delivery capability ensuring sufficient depth and breadth of experience to meet FCA expectations.
  • Act as the senior accountable lead on supervisory and enforcement related mandates, ensuring delivery excellence and risk management to the quality by which fscom has built its reputation.
  • Responsible for the P&L of the practice aligned with hitting ambitious profitable targets.
  • Be a key contributor across the senior leadership team with wider firm management as and when required, role modelling the company values and providing peer support to other practice leads.


Supervisory, remediation & enforcement delivery

  • Lead and oversee complex regulatory engagements, including: s166 Skilled Person Reviews, FCA driven and non FCA remediation programmes
  • Thematic reviews and supervisory interventions
  • Enforcement adjacent advisory and support mandates
  • Ensure delivery is consistent with FCA expectations, professional standards, and fscom’s reputation as a trusted advisor.
  • Provide senior level challenge, judgement, and oversight on complex regulatory matters.


Market positioning & relationships

  • Leverage deep market knowledge and relationships to position fscom as a go-to firm for supervisory and enforcement support.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with regulators, legal advisers, and senior compliance and risk leaders across the market.
  • Work closely with BD and Marketing Director to support brand enhancing activity, including thought leadership, market insight, and targeted client engagement.


Commercial & growth contribution

  • Originate and support new business opportunities linked to supervisory, remediation, and enforcement activity in line with KPIs set.
  • Work closely with the CEO, Executive Committee and practice leaders to integrate the Supervisory & Enforcement practice into fscom’s broader growth strategy.
  • Contribute to pricing, resourcing strategies, and commercial decision‑making for high risk, high profile engagements.


Governance, risk & quality

  • Ensure robust governance, quality assurance, and escalation frameworks are in place for supervisory and enforcement work.
  • Identify and manage delivery, resourcing, and reputational risks inherent in high stakes regulatory engagements.
  • Ensure fscom is consistently viewed by clients and regulators as a safe, credible, and professional delivery partner.


ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

  • Extensive experience in regulatory supervision, remediation, and/or enforcement related work within UK financial services.
  • Strong understanding of FCA supervisory tools, expectations, and operating model, including s165 and s166.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex, high risk regulatory engagements with senior stakeholders.
  • Deep market knowledge and established relationships across compliance, risk, legal, and regulatory communities.
  • Experience operating at senior leadership level within a consultancy, regulator, or specialist advisory firm.
  • Prior experience delivering work under the FCA Skilled Person Framework


DESIRABLE CRITERIA

  • Experience building or scaling a specialist regulatory practice.

  • Strong leadership capability with the ability to set direction, manage quality, and lead under pressure.
  • Commercially astute, with an understanding of how regulatory events translate into advisory opportunities.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building capability ahead of formal scale.
  • Strong sales capability with a following and book of clients to add value to fscom
