OverviewA leading South East housebuilder is seeking a Head of Sustainability & Environmental to lead its net carbon homes strategy alongside a hands-on environmental compliance function across live construction operations.This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, with a 50/50 split across sustainability strategy and environmental delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and implement the group-wide Sustainability and ESG strategyDeliver net carbon homes initiatives and set measurable targetsOversee environmental controls across sites, yards, offices, and factoryEnsure compliance with environmental legislation and best practiceManage nuisance control (noise, dust, vibration), pollution prevention, and wasteDevelop EMPs, SWMPs, and deliver Environmental TBTsSupport ESG Committee and drive engagement across the businessWork closely with operational teams to embed site-level best practiceAct as an external representative with regulators and stakeholdersRequirementsExperience in Sustainability, ESG, and Environmental roles within construction or housebuildingStrong knowledge of site-based environmental controls and complianceExperience delivering EMPs, SWMPs, and environmental proceduresUnderstanding of net-zero and ESG frameworksStrong communication and influencing skillsFull UK driving licenceDesirable: Degree, MIEMA, CEnv, CSCSPackage£85,000 £100,000 salary£5,500 car allowancePrivate healthcarePension: 5% employee / 3% employerFlexible working (must be commutable to Maidstone)JBRP1_UKTJ
