Health and Safety Advisor Location: Newry Job Type: Full-time - Permanent A specialist manufacturer with a strong track record and global customer base are seeking a new Health & Safety Adviser to join the team. This role will also have involvement in Quality processes and improvement as part of the role. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring a safe working environment by implementing safety policies, conducting training sessions, and monitoring compliance with health and safety regulations. Additionally, the role involves upholding quality procedures. This position is ideal for a proactive individual who can effectively communicate safety protocols and foster a culture of safety within the organisation. Day-to-day of the role: Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures, including emergency plans. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement control measures. Provide training and information to all employees on safe working practices and quality standards. Supervise and monitor adherence to safety procedures, ensuring a safe workplace. Allocate resources necessary for safety equipment, first aid provisions, and other essential resources. Lead by example, promoting a positive safety and quality culture within the organisation. Monitor performance and effectiveness of the health and safety management system. Address non-conformities by investigating quality issues or deviations from standards. Engage in continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance safety and quality. Required Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a health and safety role or similar position. Ability to train others in Manual Handling, Gantry, Abrasive Wheels, etc. Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices. Certification in First Aid is highly desirable. Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly and effectively. Proficient in conducting root cause analysis. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal skills to engage with employees at all levels of the organisation.
