Job Description

Lee Marley Group are seeking a Health & Safety Manager to join our Scaffold Division. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong scaffold professional with extensive leadership experience to work closely with the safety team and oversee scaffold operations.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter, highly experienced in scaffolding, with proven man-management skills, and able to lead from the front while maintaining the highest health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Conducting site visits twice weekly, recording findings in reports using specialist software (Procore). Auditing scaffold documentation, including design drawings, compliance certificates, manufacturer info, task briefings, RAMS, tie test reports, and handover certificates. Assessing compliance with operational scaffold activities and recommending action plans. Coordinating and communicating findings with Supervisors, Contracts Managers, and clients. Providing guidance on scaffold matters to meet current industry standards. Reporting unsafe practices and taking ownership of health & safety duties on LMB Scaffold projects. Leading and assisting in accident/incident investigations as required. Monitoring PPE, FPE, tools, and tethers, ensuring weekly inspections are completed. Preparing and issuing internal health & safety alerts highlighting issues and sharing best practice. Delivering internal training, e.g., face fit testing, manual handling. Attending client health and safety meetings as required. Assisting with external audits, including Scaffold Association and ISO 45001 compliance. Completing prequalification documentation to support securing client work.

Essential Skills & Experience

Extensive experience in the UK scaffolding industry with a strong hands-on background. CISRS Advanced Scaffolder and Advanced Scaffold Inspection certified. Previous supervisory or management experience leading teams on scaffolding projects. Excellent knowledge of NASC guidance and UK scaffold industry standards. Strong man-management and team leadership skills; ability to motivate and guide staff. Minimum applicable health & safety qualifications; IOSH Technical membership required, certified member . Proficient in IT and Microsoft Office. Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Full UK driving licence.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

Safety Net Fan qualification Temporary Works Supervisor qualification NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
