Location: Warrington or Warwick (with national travel)
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 + Company Car

A well-established national logistics and haulage business is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and develop its HSE strategy across a multi-site operation.

This is a senior, hands-on role offering real influence across transport, warehousing, and 3PL environments. The successful candidate will act as the organisation’s competent person for HSE, working closely with operational leaders to drive compliance, culture, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Review, maintain, and enhance company-wide HSE policies and procedures

*

Act as the primary HSE point of contact across multiple UK sites

*

Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on all HSE matters

*

Conduct risk assessments and develop safe systems of work

*

Lead the development of a strong, proactive HSE culture across the business

*

Ensure compliance with customer audits, corporate responsibility standards, and contractual HSE requirements

*

Liaise with clients on all HSE-related matters

*

Promote health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives across all locations

*

Support and challenge line managers on HSE performance and risk management

*

Chair and participate in HSE meetings, committees, and employee consultations

*

Ensure full compliance with current HSE legislation and industry standards

*

Promote and embed near-miss reporting

*

Carry out and support site inspections and internal audits

*

Monitor corrective actions and ensure timely close-out

*

Lead and support accident and incident investigations

*

Produce HSE KPI reports and performance data

*

Identify opportunities to apply lean principles to improve safety and efficiency

*

Stay up to date with legislative changes and best practice, communicating updates effectively

*

Develop and deliver HSE training and identify ongoing training needs

*

Ensure effective contractor management and permit-to-work systems

Candidate Requirements

*

Proven experience as a Health & Safety Manager within haulage, logistics, and/or 3PL environments

*

NEBOSH Diploma, NCRQ, or NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health & Safety

*

CMIOSH status (or actively working towards)

*

Strong background in transport, warehousing, and distribution operations

*

Full UK driving licence

*

Willingness to travel nationally to support multiple sites
