Consortium Professional Recruitment are pleased to be working with our client to appoint a Health and Safety Manager. This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for driving best practice, strengthening compliance and embedding a positive, behavioural safety culture across site operations. The Health and Safety Manager will champion continuous improvement, empower managers and teams, and ensure that health, safety and environmental standards are not only met but exceeded. The Opportunity:
As a Health and Safety Manager you'll play a key role in:
Leading and developing the HSE team to deliver site wide health, safety and environmental strategy in line with group standards and statutory requirements Driving a proactive safety culture by supporting managers and teams to identify hazards, report near misses and implement effective corrective actions Implementing and monitoring robust systems including inspections, internal audits, leadership tours and behavioural safety initiatives Ensuring compliance with ISO and management systems, maintaining statutory reports and overseeing risk and COSHH assessments through internal systems Analysing accident and incident data to identify trends, improve performance and deliver measurable safety improvements Managing the HSE budget, overseeing third party surveys, coordinating PUWER compliance and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within agreed parameters Your work will directly contribute to protecting people, strengthening operational resilience and creating a workplace free from risks to health and wellbeing.
About You:
We're looking for someone who can bring:
NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or currently working towards it Proven experience working within a Health, Safety and Environmental Management System aligned to ISO standards Experience in a fast paced operational environment, ideally within a regulated setting Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders A collaborative approach with the ability to challenge constructively, coach others and influence positive behavioural change A flexible and solutions focused mindset with a genuine commitment to continuous improvement A full UK driving licence
