LM Talent Solutions are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to lead all EHS activities at our global clients Chesterfield manufacturing site. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance, driving continuous improvement, and promoting a strong safety culture across the business.
Reporting to the Factory Manager with one direct report the successful candidate will oversee the site’s ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems, ensuring compliance with environmental permits and UK regulatory requirements while supporting operational teams in delivering best-in-class safety and environmental performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the site
Maintain and improve ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems
Ensure full compliance with UK EHS legislation and regulatory standards
Conduct and review risk assessments, audits and safety inspections
Develop and implement health & safety policies, procedures and training programmes
Investigate incidents and ensure appropriate reporting and corrective actions
Manage chemical safety, contractor management, emergency preparedness and risk management processes
Oversee environmental monitoring, reporting and waste compliance
Liaise with regulatory bodies including the Environment Agency and HSE
Support and coach managers and employees to continuously improve site safety performance
Manage and develop the EHS Officer, providing leadership and guidance
Key Skills & Experience
NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma (essential)
Degree in Health & Safety or related discipline (desirable)
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
Experience with COMAH, DSEAR, ATEX and chemical management
Familiarity with Lean safety practices and risk management frameworks
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
