The Role
As Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing health and safety across up to five live construction projects within your designated region. Working closely with senior leadership, site teams and operational staff, you will ensure the business remains fully compliant while driving continuous improvement in standards, behaviours and culture. This is a highly visible position within the business and offers the chance to make a real impact. The role has a clear pathway toward a future Head of Health & Safety position, with the opportunity to help build and lead a wider team as the company continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the main point of contact for all health and safety matters across your designated construction sites.
* Provide professional guidance and support to project teams, managers and senior stakeholders on all aspects of health and safety compliance and best practice.
* Develop, implement and continuously improve the company’s health and safety strategy to further strengthen culture, awareness and accountability throughout the business.
* Review, update and enforce health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation, industry standards and business expectations.
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits and reviews to ensure consistent standards are maintained across all projects.
* Identify risks proactively and work collaboratively with operational teams to implement practical and effective control measures.
* Support investigations into incidents, near misses and non-conformances, ensuring lessons learned are communicated and embedded.
* Promote a positive and proactive health and safety culture at all levels of the organisation.
Requirements
* NEBOSH or IOSH Health & Safety qualification.
* Proven experience in a similar Health & Safety role within the construction sector.
* Strong track record of working on comparable new build projects.
* Willingness and ability to travel across multiple live projects within the region.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the business.
* High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
