Climate17 is working with a leading independent technical consultancy operating across the UK and Ireland, supporting the delivery of major energy and infrastructure projects that are central to the energy transition.
With a long-standing track record and strong reputation in the market, our client partners with developers, investors, and asset owners to provide engineering, advisory, and technical services across a wide range of complex energy projects.
They are now looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Advisor on a permanent basis, to support project teams and drive a strong safety culture across the business.
The Role
Based out of the Manchester office, you will support engineering and project delivery teams across the UK and Ireland, taking a key role in maintaining and enhancing health and safety standards across both office and project environments.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting occupational health and safety across multiple UK and Ireland locations
- Leading and supporting H&S audits and ensuring compliance with ISO45001 standards
- Working closely with project and engineering teams to manage risk across a range of energy and infrastructure projects
- Promoting a positive and proactive health and safety culture across the business
- Supporting business development activities by contributing to client-facing H&S services
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, including CDM 2015 Regulations
- Chairing meetings, producing reports, and communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (essential); Diploma desirable
- Membership of IOSH, working towards or holding Chartered status
- ISO45001 Lead Auditor qualification with practical audit experience (ideally within construction or infrastructure environments)
- 3-day First Aid qualification; additional wellbeing certification beneficial
- Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and guidance
- Experience gained within a technical consultancy, power generation, process industry, or renewable energy environment
- Proven ability to promote and embed a strong safety culture
- Up-to-date knowledge of CDM Regulations (including Principal Contractor responsibilities)
- Strong communication skills, including report writing and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to analyse and clearly explain complex risk and root cause issues
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
- Right to work in the UK
