Health & Safety Manager

O'Neill & Brennan are working on behalf of a well-established, employee-focused main contractor operating across London and the South East, who are looking to appoint an experienced Health & Safety Manager to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work with a contractor recognised for delivering high-quality projects across education, healthcare, residential, commercial and public-sector sectors.

The Role

You will take ownership of health, safety and wellbeing across multiple live construction sites, working closely with senior management, project teams and site managers to ensure best-in-class H&S standards are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading and implementing company-wide Health & Safety policies and procedures

Conducting site inspections, audits and risk assessments

Supporting project teams with RAMS, method statements and safe systems of work

Investigating incidents, near misses and implementing corrective actions

Delivering toolbox talks, training and ongoing H&S guidance

Ensuring compliance with all relevant UK legislation and industry standards

Promoting a positive, proactive safety culture across the business

Candidate Requirements:

Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager or Senior H&S role within construction

Background working for a main contractor (essential)

Strong working knowledge of CDM Regulations, HSG guidance and UK H&S legislation

NEBOSH Construction Certificate (or equivalent) - NEBOSH Diploma desirable

Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels

Proactive, hands-on and confident working across multiple sites
