Health & Safety Officer\nLocation: Reading, Berkshire\nSalary: £45,000 – £50,000 (DOE)\nSector: Manufacturing\nJob Type: Full-Time, Permanent\n\n The Opportunity\n\n Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Reading, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a pivotal role in driving safety culture, ensuring compliance, and shaping best practice across a busy production environment.\n\n As a specialist recruitment agency partnering with this organisation, we are looking for a proactive, confident professional who can operate both strategically and hands-on on the shop floor.\n\n The Role\n\n Reporting into senior management, you will be responsible for leading all health and safety activities across the site, ensuring full compliance with UK legislation and industry standards.\n\n Key responsibilities include:\n\nLeading and promoting a positive health & safety culture across the manufacturing facility\n\nEnsuring compliance with HSE regulations and maintaining ISO standards where applicable\n\nConducting risk assessments, audits, and accident investigations\n\nDeveloping and delivering health & safety training across all levels\n\nReviewing and updating policies and procedures\n\nActing as the main point of contact for regulatory bodies and external auditors\n\nProviding regular performance reports to senior leadership\n\nThe Candidate\n\n We are looking for:\n\nProven experience in a Health & Safety role within a manufacturing or industrial environment\n\nNEBOSH General Certificate (Diploma desirable)\n\nStrong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation\n\nExperience conducting internal audits and leading investigations\n\nExcellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels\n\nA proactive, solutions-focused approach\n\nWhat’s On Offer\n\nSalary between £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience\n\n8% company pension contribution\n\n32 days holiday (including bank holidays)\n\nOpportunity to shape and lead health & safety strategy\n\nStable, growing manufacturing business
