CareerMakers Recruitment are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Fitter on behalf of our client based in Kirkby.
This is a hands-on role supporting site operations and maintaining heavy plant machinery and aggregate wash plant systems. It is ideal for someone with strong mechanical knowledge and a proactive approach to maintenance and uptime.
Working Hours Monday to Friday: 7:00am 5:00pm

Saturday: 7:00am 1:00pm (when required)

Additional overtime available when necessary

Expected hours: 47.5 60 per week

Key Duties & Responsibilities Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on heavy plant machinery including excavators, loading shovels, screeners and crushers

Service and maintain aggregate wash plant systems

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults

Complete routine servicing and preventative maintenance to maximise uptime

Monitor plant performance and ensure operational efficiency

Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports and maintenance logs

Work collaboratively with plant operators, fitters and management

Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with health and safety regulations

Requirements Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills

Previous experience maintaining heavy plant machinery

Experience with aggregate wash plant maintenance highly desirable

Good understanding of health & safety within an industrial environment

Basic computer literacy for reporting and record keeping

Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently or within a team

Must be able to commute to the Kirkby site (L33 area)

Flexible to work overtime and weekends when required

Pay & Benefits £20.00 £25.00 per hour (DOE)
