Heavy Plant Mechanic / Maintenance Engineer

\n Location: Norwich, Norfolk.

A well‑established, family‑run construction company is looking for a highly versatile Heavy Plant Mechanic / Maintenance Engineer to take ownership of maintaining, repairing and developing their extensive fleet of plant, vehicles and machinery. This is a rare opportunity to step into a role with real autonomy, long‑term stability and a genuinely supportive working culture.

About The Role: You'll be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a wide range of equipment, including:

\n

\n Heavy Plant - Liebherr Mobile Cranes, Combi Forklifts, Forklifts, Telehandlers.

\n

CNC Drill and Saw Machinery.

\n

HGVs - Scania and Volvo.

\n

Light Commercial Vehicles - Vans and Cars.

\n

\n

No two days are the same. While the role is predominantly plant‑focused, there isn't enough work in one single area to specialise, so they need someone who enjoys variety and is confident turning their hand to anything mechanical - if something needs fixing, you'll put your hand to it and sort it! You'll also effectively be your own boss, supported by one junior team member whom you'll help train and develop.

What They're Looking For:

\n Broad mechanical experience across plant, vehicles or machinery.

\n

A practical, hands‑on approach and willingness to tackle any job.

\n

Ability to work independently and take ownership.

\n

A positive attitude and pride in workmanship.

\n

Full UK driving licence (HGV licence an advantage but not essential).

\n

\n

Hours, Pay & Benefits:

\n

\n 40‑hour contract: 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday to Friday

\n

Overtime paid at time‑and‑a‑half (regular overtime available and flexibility towards working overtime is expected).

\n

29.5 days' holiday, including bank holidays and Christmas shutdown.

\n

Aviva pension scheme.

\n
