About the role:
As a Heritage Maintenance Technician, you will be multi-skilled, playing a key role in the conservation, repair, and improvement of a historic estate. Working under the House Foreman, you will carry out maintenance tasks across the main residence and ancillary buildings, supporting environmental performance through modern practices. This hands-on, collaborative role requires flexibility to undertake additional duties as needed. You will act as an ambassador for the estate, demonstrating professionalism and leading by example in preserving this historic residence. Working hours are 39 hours per week, with flexibility required for additional hours as needed.
Key Duties include:
* Carry out conservation, repair, and maintenance work across the main residence and ancillary buildings, using appropriate traditional materials and techniques.
* Undertake a broad range of maintenance tasks on buildings of mixed age and use, including decorative wall coverings.
* Support the ongoing improvement, upkeep, and safe operation of estate infrastructure.
* Work collaboratively with the maintenance team and external subcontractors to complete tasks efficiently.
* Respond promptly to maintenance issues, applying strong problem-solving skills and ensuring compliance with Health and Safety legislation.
* Follow organisational policies, maintain a safe and organised working environment, and support the wider team as required.
* Engage in continuous professional development to learn new methods, skills, and techniques.
About You:
As a multi-skilled Heritage Maintenance Technician, you will have demonstrable experience in traditional / heritage building maintenance and conservation, with a strong understanding of sympathetic repair methods. You will be a detail-oriented and professional individual who takes pride in preserving historic environments.
