People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based at East Midlands Gateway, Derbyshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering competitive rates of pay, consistent Monday to Friday work, and the chance to secure a permanent position with a respected logistics company.
Shifts:
Monday to Friday
Start times between: 04:00 and 16:00
Rates of Pay:
06:00 – 18:00: £16.66 per hour
18:00 – 06:00: £20.82 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties
Your duties as a HGV Class 1 Driver are:
Safely and efficiently drive Category CE vehicles, completing 3–5 trunk runs per day
Operate curtain-sider trailers and secure all loads correctly (including awkward loads)
Make timely deliveries to various destinations
Communicate effectively with the transport team
Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
Ensure compliance with all driving laws and working time directives
Essential Skills
The essential skills required to be a HGV Class 1 Driver are:
Valid UK Category CE Licence
Valid UK CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Minimum of six months' continuous experience driving Class 1 (C+E) vehicles
Maximum of six penalty points for minor infringements (no major endorsement codes)
Excellent communication and time management skills
Professional and reliable attitude
Desirable Experience
Previous experience securing and strapping abnormal loads
Experience manoeuvring in tight delivery depots
Training Provided
Driving assessment required prior to start
Three-day paid company induction programme provided
Full industry-related training and ongoing support throughout
