Class 1 HIAB Driver (Wagon & Drag / Articulated)

Location: Atherton
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Pay Rate:£16.75 per hour

We are looking for an experienced Class 1 HIAB Driver to join a busy operations team delivering and installing modular buildings and site equipment across the UK. This is a hands-on role combining Class 1 (C+E) driving with HIAB crane operation, involving delivery, positioning, and installation of units on client sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Class 1 (C+E) vehicles, including articulated and wagon & drag combinations
  • Carry out safe delivery and collection of:
    • Portable cabins
    • Welfare units
    • Modular buildings and site equipment
  • Use HIAB crane to load, unload, and position units safely and accurately
  • Complete on-site installation, including:
    • Positioning units
    • Installing stairs, steps, and access systems
    • Stacking units where required
  • Ensure all loads are secure, compliant, and within legal limits
  • Conduct daily vehicle, trailer, and equipment checks
  • Complete all required documentation (PODs, tachograph records, inspections)
  • Work safely at all times, following relevant regulations and site procedures
Requirements
  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence
  • CPC qualification & digital tachograph card
  • HIAB / Lorry Loader certificate (NPORS or CPCS)
  • Minimum:
    • 3 years Class 1 driving experience
    • 2 years HIAB experience
  • Experience with wagon & drag / drawbar trailers
  • Good understanding of load securing and vehicle compliance
  • No more than 3 penalty points (no major endorsements)
