HGV Drainage Engineer Nights and Working Away
Location: North West England
Pay: Expected earnings £65,000 - £70,000+ pa
Contract Type: Permanent
Vector Recruitment Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing drainage contractor in the North West, who are looking to add experienced HGV Drainage Engineers / Jet Vac Operators to their professional field team due to continued expansion.
This is a hands-on role suited to engineers who are comfortable working away from home and undertaking night work, offering stable hours, long-term employment and strong earning potential.
The Role
  • Operate an HGV Drainage / Jet Vac Unit on a variety of sites
  • Carry out high-pressure water jetting and drainage maintenance works
  • Attend daily site visits delivering planned and reactive services
  • Support CCTV and Drainage Survey teams during inspections and investigations
  • Accurately complete job records and service documentation
  • Liaise with clients and internal teams to report findings and recommend solutions
  • Carry out routine checks and basic maintenance on vehicles and equipment

Hours & Travel
  • Monday to Friday
  • Minimum 50 paid hours per week
  • 90% night work
  • 90% working away from home

About You
  • Proven experience driving and operating Combi Units / Jet Vacs
  • HGV Class 2 Licence and CPC
  • Happy with night work and travel as part of the role
  • Strong awareness of health & safety and site procedures
  • Professional, reliable, and customer-focused

Pay & Benefits
  • Days: £15.00 £17.00 per hour
  • Nights: £20.00 £22.67 per hour, plus additional enhancements
  • Overtime paid at enhanced rates (time and a third to double time)
  • Working away subsistence allowance
  • Expected earnings £65,000 - £70,000+ per year
  • 30 days holiday
