HGV Field Service Engineer Reading Area\nWe are working on behalf of our prestigious client, who have been in business since the early 1900’s and they are the UK’s market leader in the manufacture of Waste management vehicles. There famous brand name is seen on the front of leading waste management companies cabs everyday across the United Kingdom’s streets.\nOur client is looking for an enthusiastic, innovative, and dynamic multi-disciplined, HGV Field Service Engineer to join their team.\nWorking from home, covering Reading and the surrounding area.\nPaid Door To Door Giving Excellent Overtime Opportunities\nJob Purpose:\nTo carry out servicing and repair to a range of chassis and vehicle mounted municipal equipment at both customer premises and within Company workshops.\n.\nMain Duties and Responsibilities:\n * To carry out repairs & servicing to HGVs and associated mounted municipal equipment\n * Job management\n * Quality & customer satisfaction\n * Health & Safety\nHGV Mobile Technician\n· Salary – to £53,445.00 pa DOE\n· Location – Reading.\n· Hours – 45 per week, 9 hours per day. Monday – Friday, with flexible start and finish times based on customer driven requirements.\n· Role comes with Company Van (Business use only)\nOvertime pay rates will be as follows:\n· Monday to Friday after 45 hours worked: x 1.5.\n· Saturday: x1.5.\n· Sunday: x2.\n· Bank Holidays: x2 plus a day off in lieu.\nEach day’s agreed starting time will be based on the first customer job requirement and will be notified at the end of the prior working day.
In the event that a specific start time is not assigned, the default start time will be 8:00am, reporting to the usual place of work or allocated Service Centre.\nIt is anticipated that start times will be based on reasonable customer expectations, and as such any requested start time prior to 6:00am would be paid at time and a third enhanced rates for the first 2 hours of working up to 6:00am.\nThere is a requirement for the hours necessary to fulfil the role to be completed and the Company may require reasonable overtime to be worked should operational needs dictate.\nCompany Benefits include but are not limited to:\n· Bike to work scheme.\n· Company sick pay scheme.\n· Employee assistance programme.\n· Enhanced pension scheme and DIS benefit.\n· Health shield medical cash plan.\n· Training and development.\nCriteria\nEssential / Desirable\nKnowledge\nProven knowledge of good health and safety practices E\nProven knowledge of existing customer base and vehicles D\nExperience\nPrevious service engineer or customer facing role D\n1 + years’ experience of working for a comparable Company D\n5 years’ experience in maintenance and repair of RCVs or similar equipment E\nExperience of both body and chassis maintenance and repair E\nEducation / Qualifications\nCurrent PLG licence E\nYear 3 C&G training or equivalent E\nHGV product training D\nHealth and safety qualification D\nHGV Licence D\nJob-related skills & abilities\nProven diagnostic skills E\nUnderstanding of electronics and able to read wiring diagrams E\nAble to read hydraulics diagrams E\nBasic IT and basic administration skills E\nGood communication skills E\nAbility to write formal reports on technical issues D\nOther requirements\nAbility to work under own initiative E\nGood customer service ethos E\nProfessional image E\nWilling and able to travel extensively within the UK E\nWilling and able to work overtime at short notice E\nWilling and able to stay away from home when required D\nWilling and able to travel internationally D\nQuality & Environmental Responsibilities:\nResponsible for the management, compliance and upkeep of the quality & environmental procedures, records, and documents relevant to the role.\nPlease note that you may be asked to carry out tasks other than the above that are deemed by your manager to be appropriate, reasonable and within the remit of your role.
