As a HGV Mechanic you will be responsible for being the senior fitter maintaining all aspects of our HGV fleet both on a responsive and preventive maintenance basis. You will work to high levels of health and safety to carry out all tasks in line with business needs, mentor other staff members where needed and assist the Workshop Manager with all aspects of HGV duties.
Duties will include:
Inspect a wide ranging and varied mix of LGV/HGV and Light Commercial vehicles to VOSA MOT standards, diagnosing and rectifying all associated faults
Other duties to assist with operational demand
Maintain current product knowledge and attend training courses as required
Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully in line with current H&S policy
Liaise with parts department to attain parts
Attend breakdowns and carry out roadside assistance (During season)
Drive an motivate workshop staff to a high standard
