Job Title: HGV Technician
Location: Slough
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, Day Shift (e.g., 7:00am – 4:00pm)
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Job Description We are seeking an experienced and skilled HGV Technician to join our team at a well-established commercial vehicle maintenance facility in Slough. This is a permanent position offering a straight day shift and a competitive salary of £50,000 per annum.
As an HGV Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and roadworthiness of a fleet of heavy goods vehicles by carrying out diagnostics, repairs, and scheduled maintenance to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine servicing, inspections, and maintenance on HGVs in line with DVSA regulations.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults.
Prepare vehicles for MOT and conduct pre-MOT inspections.
Complete all relevant paperwork and service records accurately.
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with health & safety standards.
Liaise with workshop supervisors and fleet managers regarding work progress.Requirements
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
Proven experience working as an HGV Technician or Mechanic.
HGV Class 1 or 2 licence (preferred but not essential).
Strong understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair methods.
Ability to work independently and efficiently during day shifts.
Good communication and teamwork skills.Benefits
