HGV Technician/ Fitter - Fylde Coast

We are looking to recruit an HGV Fitter/Technician for a local Haulage Company

This is a full-time, permanent position.

Hourly rate is TOTALLY dependent on experience, qualifications and skill set and the hours can be flexible. Between £15 to £20 an hour.

Day shift, Monday to Friday, 40 to 45 a week contract, start / finish times to suit.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Perform minor and major repairs on lorries and trailers
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all vehicles in a timely, efficient and cost-effective way
  • Inspections and MOT preparations
  • Maintain parts inventory
  • Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
  • Attend local breakdowns in surrounding areas if necessary
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Carry out additional tasks as requested by the Workshop Manager

Skills

  • Full driving licence - Class 1 would be an advantage although not essential
  • Proven experience as an HGV Mechanic / Fitter
  • Qualified HGV mechanic or qualified by experience
  • Good standard of verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to use initiative and work alone
  • Good understanding of the MOT test requirements and legislation
