HGV Technician – Bridgwater

Are you an experienced HGV Technician ready for your next challenge? We’re expanding our busy Bridgwater Depot and are looking for a proactive and skilled Workshop Technician to join our team full-time.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of in-house fleet repairs, work with a supportive team, and develop your skills in a dynamic environment.

What We Offer:

Competitive Pay:

£20.03 per hour

Overtime after 47.5 hours:£25.04 per hour

Enhanced Weekend Rates:

Saturday: £25.04 per hour

Sunday: £30.05 per hour

Shift Pattern:

Monday – Friday with occasional weekends

10 hrs a day – flexible start times

Your Role:

Inspect and maintain our HGV fleet to meet both legal and company standards

Prepare vehicles for MOT and handle transport to the Test Centre

Record defects and maintain accurate service records

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues, including minor accident damage

Work with a range of vehicles, trailers, and ancillary equipment

Deliver high standards of customer service and collaborate effectively with the wider team

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Experience in a similar role (essential)
✔ Hands-on commercial HGV experience
✔ A can-do attitude and ability to work independently
✔ Strong communication skills and a team-player mindset
✔ Attention to detail with excellent record-keeping
✔ No more than 6 minor points on your license (no CDs, DDs, DRs, or INs)

Qualifications:

City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3 / BTEC / IMI in Motor Vehicle Management

Or equivalent practical experience in the commercial vehicle industry
