Location: Gateshead

The Role
We are looking for a VMU Technician to join our Gateshead Depot Vehicle Maintenance Unit, Supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of our fleet.
You'll be part of a close knit team of 7 colleagues working together to maintain a fleet of around 45 to 50 vehicles.
In this hands on role, you'll carry out inspections, servicing and repairs on vehicles, trailers and associated equipment, helping to ensure our fleet remains compliant, roadworthy and available to meet delivery schedules.
You'll work closely with the VMU Co-ordinators, front line managers and the wider logistics team, contributing to performance targets while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

The Offer:
·Basic Salary: £43,172 + Overtime & Benefits = £46,000 per annum
·Hours: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 14:00 & 11:00 - 19:00 (44-hour week).
·Rotating Saturday Morning 06:00am to 14:00pm
·Contract: Full-time, Permanent.

What You'll Be Responsible For
·Inspecting, servicing and repairing vehicles, trailers and ancillary equipment
·Completing work in line with company procedures and DVSA/VOSA standards
·Supporting vehicle availability in line with operational and delivery requirements
·Working safely and in line with environmental, health and safety procedures
·Highlighting safety or compliance concerns to the VMU Co-ordinator or FLM
·Using tools, equipment and resources effectively
·Supporting the use of external contractors where required
·Contributing to shift KPIs through timely and effective maintenance activity
·Carrying out other VMU-related duties as required
