High Voltage Power Electronics Design Engineer\n\nOverview\n\nOur client is seeking a High Voltage Power Electronics Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team. In this role, you will take ownership of the design, development, and optimisation of high-efficiency DC-DC and AC-DC power converters (up to 2 kW), working across the full product lifecycle — from concept and simulation through to validation and production.\n\nYou will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure that designs meet stringent performance, reliability, and compliance standards. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on design, innovation, and seeing their work make a tangible impact in real-world systems.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Design, simulate, and test DC-DC and AC-DC power converters up to 2 kW output power.\n\n * Select and evaluate semiconductors (MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC/GaN) and magnetic components for optimal performance and cost.\n\n * Develop control algorithms and digital/analog feedback loops for power regulation and system stability.\n\n * Perform thermal analysis, derating studies, and ensure compliance with relevant safety and EMC standards.\n\n * Work with PCB design tools (Altium, Eagle, or similar) to produce robust, manufacturable designs.\n\n * Use simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB, Simulink, or equivalent) to verify and optimise converter performance.\n\n * Conduct design reviews, root-cause analysis, and troubleshooting of prototype and production units.\n\n * Collaborate with systems, mechanical, and test engineers to integrate power electronics into larger assemblies.\n\n * Support design validation testing, documentation, and certification processes.\n\nRequirements\n\n * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.\n\n * Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in power electronics design.\n\n * Proven experience with high-voltage converter design, switching topologies, and control strategies.\n\n * Strong understanding of magnetic design, component selection, and thermal management principles.\n\n * Proficiency in simulation tools (SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) and PCB design software (Altium, Eagle, etc.).\n\n * Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, UL, CE, EMC/EMI compliance).\n\n * Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.\n\n * Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines under pressure.\n\nIf you are a passionate High Voltage Power Electronics Design Engineer who thrives on solving complex design challenges and wants to contribute to advancing high-performance power systems, we would love to hear from you.\n\nApply now with your CV and cover letter
