Are you an experienced HLTA with a passion for French and confidence leading whole classes?
A highly regarded, two-form entry primary school in Harrow is seeking a skilled and adaptable Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team for the Summer Term. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach French across EYFS to Year 6 while also providing structured leadership and PPA cover within a well-run, supportive school environment.
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial relevant training such a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

The Role
This full-time HLTA position will include:
• Teaching French (MfL) across the school (Reception – Year 6) as part of PPA cover
• Delivering engaging, structured lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum
• Providing additional whole-class cover, including:
• ECT release time
• ECT mentor time
• Middle leader management time
• General leadership cover
This is a varied role that would suit someone confident teaching across all primary phases and comfortable adapting to different year groups.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
• Hold HLTA status or have significant whole-class teaching experience
• Have experience teaching or delivering French in a primary setting
• Be confident working across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
• Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
• Be organised, flexible and proactive
• Thrive within a structured and collaborative school environment
• Experience in a large, well-established primary school would be advantageous.
