Reeson Education is recruiting an experienced and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support primary schools across the borough of Waltham Forest, including Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone and Chingford.

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant role is ideal for someone ready to take on additional responsibility, lead whole-class sessions, and provide structured intervention support across KS1 and KS2.

The Role - Higher Level Teaching Assistant

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons during PPA cover
• Lead small group booster sessions in Maths and English
• Support pupils preparing for SATs in Upper KS2
• Work alongside class teachers to raise attainment
• Provide targeted SEN intervention where required

Schools are seeking a proactive and organised Higher Level Teaching Assistant who can confidently manage behaviour, maintain learning momentum, and adapt across year groups.

What Schools Are Looking For

The ideal Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

• Previous experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum
• Confidence leading full classes independently
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management
• Flexibility to work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2

This Higher Level Teaching Assistant opportunity offers both long-term placements and consistent supply work across Walthamstow, Leyton, Leytonstone and Chingford.
